Founded in 1989, Boater’s Insurance Agency, Inc. (BIA) is a family owned and operated agency that specializes in providing insurance products and services within the marine industry. We are located in the San Francisco Bay Area, and are licensed in 50 states. The business began small and has evolved into the company it is today by forging strong relationships with a number of marine insurance companies. They have allowed us to develop innovative and specialized products and coverages for our clients, a core focus of our agency’s mission since day one.

Our superior customer service and knowledge of the marine industry has been an essential part of our success and most importantly, we are strong advocates for our clients. We work diligently to ensure that all policy and customer service related questions as well as claims are handled promptly and professionally.

We work very closely with many boat and yacht dealers throughout the country who refer their customers to us for their insurance needs. In addition, we are endorsed by some of the most prestigious boat manufacturers in the industry as well as a number of marinas, harbormasters, marine surveyors and repair yards. BIA is also used as a primary source of insurance by a number of waterski/wakeboard associations, professional waterski/wakeboard athletes and many of the top professional bass anglers. Thanks to these partnerships, we represent thousands of insureds around the country, each with a customized policy managed by a marine specialty agent.

In early 2023, Twin Rivers Marine Insurance, a long time and well-known agency providing boat and yacht insurance predominantly on the West Coast, joined the BIA group to further expand our reach and capabilities to provide outstanding coverage options to mariners in the Pacific region. The legacy of Twin Rivers lives on as a part of BIA.
